Job Description:

Job Title:     Executive Director                               

Exempt:       Part-time – 20 hours/week

Reports to:  President

Salary:          $25/hour 

Summary:   Works with the Board of Directors to ensure the stability and growth of the New England Coalition for Cancer Survivorship and to accomplish the organization’s mission of education, advocacy and empowerment.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following as well as other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned:

 Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Board of Directors in the development of the strategic business plan and budget, as well as policies and directives.
  • Assist the board with board recruitment and development.
  • Supervise the Executive Assistant position.
  • Explore and develop funding opportunities and maintain key relationships with funders.
  • Oversee financial record keeping in conjunction with the Executive Assistant and Treasurer, as well as ensuring required legal/tax forms are filed within designated timelines.
  • Oversee NECCS marketing including: event management, newsletter, website, social networking and public relations.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of programming, educational materials and publications.
  • Identify and work on advocacy issues.
  • Form collaborations with other related organizations.
  • Act as an ex officio member of all board committees.
  • Oversee recruitment, coordination, and training of volunteers.
  • Assist with administrative duties as needed.  

 

Knowledge/Skill Requirements:

  • Demonstrates strong leadership skills.
  • Experience in management, supervision and fundraising.
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships.
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to make presentations.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Experience with volunteer management preferred.
  • Bachelors degree in business, public or health administration and/or related field with experience in non-profit/volunteer organization.  Master’s degree preferred.
